My name is Calvin Moto II and I am running for Senate District T against Incumbent Donald Olson.
Let YOUR voice be heard!
For someone who truly cares for your community, look no further. Please make it my job to speak on behalf of you. Our legislature makes decisions based on themselves, not us! I will be fierce and bold to get what Alaskans need. Lets do this together and make change for the better of our future generations.
Born in Anchorage, I have lived in Deering my whole life. A small town of 150 people within the NANA region, just 60 miles south of Kotzebue on the northern coast of the Seward Peninsula.
I was rasied by my grandafther Calvin Moto Sr. My parents are Ruth Ann Moto of Kotzebue and Bruce Barr of Deering. I grew up poor. I was the child who never got the new bike, no clothes were new, and most of the kids didn't like me. It made me who I am today.
I now have the will to help others in whatever way possible throughout my community and region. I want to help my district and all Alaskans by bringing a fierce young attitude and knowledge to speak and be heard in the legislature.
I have 4 children with my companion Diane. Hailie (13), Calvin III (10), Brandon (9), and Melody (4). We are all outdoors enthusiasts and love to play basketball.
I have spent most of my adult life being a carpenter, heavy equipment operator, internet technician, and most importantly, a father.
Currently I am the local Tribal President for the Deering IRA, Vice-Chair of our local Electric Board, and member our local school board. I am an active search and rescue member and volunteer firefighter for my community.
I owe my due diligence to my community, my region, and more so, my state. Together we can take Alaska back and it starts with your vote!
If there is one thing we have in common, it is we are all human! We all need to be treated equally and fairly and the legislature has failed! All Alaskan voices matter and need to be heard. Election day is your time to do that!
So many of us depend on change for the better of our future generations. The longer we go down this path, the harder it will get to make a comeback.
We can't win this race without your help. A simple donation can go a long way and make that difference towards our goal of taking back Alaska! Please contribute today, Taikuu
